Musical Muses 4: Mellow Fellow, Dancing

Lyric Excerpt

Years ago
when I had a chance
I could've held your hand
But I was young and then I blew every circumstance

Yet I still think
I dream of dancing, dancing with you, with you

And maybe even share a drink or two
While I tell you the truth
That I don't even care what this is for
As long as I get to share the floor
With you, with you... with you

Need a vintage prom night slow dance? Alone in a dive bar downing a hard beverage pining over a missed connection? Or just generally need some slow sways on a cold night? Mellow Fellow has all of the above covered.

Between the light twang of what sounds like a fender stratocaster and a steady beat on the hi-hat, the song itself has no frills leaving most of the heavy lifting to the chorus and thoughtful composition. It’s been tapping at the old noggin for the past couple of years and I don’t mind.

No fancy flourishes, just feelings. Honest feelings for what could have been or everything you’ve dreamed of but never had the opportunity to follow through

Nice to see the indie rock scene in the Phillippines has some activity :)
